NFL Mock Draft 11 to 15

NFL Mock Draft: 11 to 15

As the wait for the draft draws closer, the mock drafts continue with each more interesting than the next. I have been known to make some very hot takes, and there is no stopping that. Today we see several teams looking to surround their QB with weapons, while some others looks to finally establish their line. 11 to 15 might be the most important part of the first round, as it shapes how the draft goes for the best part of this class – the WRs. CeeDee Lamb, Henry Ruggs, and Jerry Jeudy are the creme of the crop, and their number may be called. It is the key point of the draft.

11. The New York Jets select Jerry Jeudy, WR from Alabama

The best WR in the class goes to the Jets, a team in desperate need of pass catchers. Darnold is in need of weapons, and there’s no other player more perfect for the job than Jerry Jeudy. With Robbie Anderson having gone to the Panthers, all Darnold currently has is Le’veon Bell who also might be traded. While the Jets need to focus on building their offensive line, who ranked 31st in run blocking and 26th in pass block according to Pro Football Focus, giving their QB a weapon is much more important. That can only be further personified when you look at how good Jeudy really is. (AKA the next Marvin Harrison)

Jeudy can lineup anywhere for any team. He can play in the slot and on the outside. However, what separates him from Henry Ruggs and CeeDee Lamb is his route running. There hasn’t been a prospect quite like Jeudy when it comes to that aspect in a long time. He has an insane ability to jump from the go, and attack CBs from the line of scrimmage, and has such graceful hip movement and footwork that leads to creating a mismatch against most CBs in college. Put anyone in press coverage against him, and he will give them a run for their money. It’s like he’s a raindrop on your car window. Flows down, you can’t stop staring, and you don’t know when it will twist and turn. This in turn help create amazing fast twitch abilities and great hand-eye coordination. He has a release and can track the ball no matter the arc. He’s someone you can put on any team.

🚨Trade Alert🚨
The Denver Broncos receive: 12th pick
The Las Vegas Raiders receive: 15th, 77th picks
12. The Denver Broncos select Henry Ruggs III, WR from Alabama

The Broncos have been eyeing Henry Ruggs for a long time, and they needed to make a move to draft him. The 49ers were another team that was viewed to be a great fit for Ruggs, and a team in need of one more WR. The Broncos needed to trade up because Courtland Sutton is not enough to lead an offense. The Broncos may have a breakout player in Drew Lock. Last year he had 2 game winning drives, and a 4th quarter comeback. He also went 4-1 in games he started in. He has potential yet is still very raw, and Ruggs is what he needs. Sutton averaged around 70 yards a game when Lock played against some of the best corners in Tre’Davious White, Casey Hayward, Bradley Roby, and Darius Slay. Ruggs is desperately needed if Courtland and Lock want to grow, and he is an amazing fit.

Courtland Sutton is a big play WR. He is your guy for jump balls, and contested coverage. He is a jack of all trades, but master of none. Someone deeps to be a consistent deep threat for lock. Ruggs will be that field blazer. He ran a 4.27 40 yard dash the the combine, and while that doesn’t always translate to the deep ball in the NFL, he knows can do it. He can make nice catches, and has a pretty good radius, and runs hard with strength and power. He can run it into the house at any point and is a WR you need to watch every play. He is your deep ball guy. This might be an overstatement on my part but he has a DK Metcalf-Tyreek Hill mixture in him and his ceiling is extremely high.

13. The San Francisco 49ers select CeeDee Lamb, WR from Oklahoma

Ceedee Lamb has the archetype of an all time great player. While he doesn’t have qualities that stick out like Jeudy’s route running or Rugg’s speed, he is the most complete WR of this class. The 49ers are looking to replace Emmanuel Sanders, and solidify a WR that can play aside Deebo Samuel. Ceedee Lamb has amazing abilities and could end up better than any WR in this class. He’s just very gifted.

The most noticeable part of his game is his ability to rack up yards after catch. Last season he averaged 11.0 YAC per catch, which was 5th in the nation. He also forced 26 missed tackles, 2nd in the nation to Jalen Reagor. He can also make adjustments on the fly, and is very adaptive to QBs. He knows how the ball travels, and uses it to his advantage. Lamb is a three level player. He runs amazingly, and knows how to make the correct reads at the right times. But he is a playmaker. He is very similar to players like Deebo, and Josh Jacobs in that fact. Imagine if you had to face two of the most agile WRs in the NFL. He is NFL ready, and ready to dominate.

14. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Derrick Brown, DT from Auburn

Now I know that it is unlikely that he will fall this far, but he is the perfect player for the Bucs defense. With Suh’s resigning, these two would wreak havoc on opposing offensive lines. His last year at Auburn was steller, with 12.5 TFL, and 4 sacks, along with 4 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles. Numbers, however, never really tell the full story for interior linemen. This man is a freak of nature. He has a good first step, and likes to try and jump the snap count. But his biggest strength is his ability to create space.

This man is strong and big, and situations end one of two ways. Either he takes enough blockers away, and linebackers swarm in for a sack or tackle, or he knocks everyone down and does the dirty work himself. If this happens, Tampa Bay is in for one heck of a sweet treat.

15. The Las Vegas Raiders select K’Lavon Chaisson, DE from LSU

This is the pass rusher of the class. He brings a tenacious inclinity to the Raiders, and has an knack for hunting QBs. His knows how to disrupt and make everything hard for linemen and is just hard to deal with. He’s like a parasite. Another major plus is his leadership. The Raiders already brought in a ton on veterans, and if Chaisson can come here, he can lead them and take initiative from day one. He’s just that kind of guy.

He isn’t extremely physical but plays with grit and a certain mean attitude. He comes with vengeance, and only wans to win.
